Online Therapy Intensives in Charlotte, NC
You feel like things are going ok on a day-to-day basis, and yet there’s this “thing” underneath everything. You’ve spent years in and out of therapy, and while it’s certainly been helpful, it doesn’t feel like enough. Things have been great for a while, but you can feel the anxiety and overwhelm seeping back in and you know shit is going to hit the fan.
You notice those old feelings and habits coming back again. Snapping at your family, withdrawing from friends, and a general sense of doom. Feeling overwhelmed with things that haven’t been hard in the past, even losing interest in the things that make your heart sing. You can sense the sadness coming and you just don’t want to do it again.

Why do a Therapy Intensive?
You feel like you need a “pause” button on life in order to get what you really need. You know what you need to do; you have the skills. But everyday life gets in the way every time. There’s a reason why these feelings come up time and time again, but you just don’t know why. You’ve tried counseling to find that why, but as soon as you start getting comfortable with a new therapist, it’s like you get off track. Sure, the things happening now are important, you know that. But you also know that if you don’t get to the root of all this, it’ll keep happening.
You know you need to try something different. A way to get at the root cause.
Therapy Intensives can help…
Survivors of physical, emotional, and/or sexual trauma.
Painful childhood experiences.
Overcome blocks in traditional talk therapy.
Autistic and ADHD folks dealing with overwhelm and burnout.
Increase creativity and performance.
Overcome sports trauma.
Kick-start therapy for OCD.
I help people who have been in and out of therapy get at the reason why the overwhelm and anxiety keep coming back. My clients experience change over the course of an intensive, not just in their anxiety and depression, but in their relationships, how they feel about themselves, and even how they respond to stress. A therapy intensive is hard work, but it can help you get to what’s keeping you stuck so that you can come out the other side. While we will spend time working on serious things, there will definitely be humor and sarcasm (and yes, cussing) along the way.
How does an intensive work?
We’ll spend many hours over the course of a few days really getting at what is going on underneath all of the day-to-day shit. My intensive clients typically see me for either one 5-hour day or two 3-hour days every few months. They find that dedicating a larger block of time helps to really “dig in” to all that underlying stuff that keeps coming back up. We don’t have to spend time “catching up” once per week, and we are able to laser-focus on what keeps that anxiety coming back. With an intensive, we can use a variety of techniques in one session, whether it’s movement-based skills, breathwork, IFS, brainspotting, or a combination of many of these.
Therapy doesn’t have to be weekly juggling the schedule, getting the kids taken care of, and feeling like you’re spinning your wheels, going over the same things all the time. With a therapy intensive, you can really dig deep, work hard, and find relief.

Generally speaking, yes! Therapy intensives can give you more concentrated time to really dive deep into your issues and get the healing you’re looking for without months (or even years) of traditional therapy. While it can be a larger up-front cost, when you calculate the amount of time you would spend over the course of a year paying for weekly therapy, you can easily see how it is cheaper in the long run.
